Regulation
Our instructors are nationally and internationally recognised and accredited for their experience, standards and commitment to traditional Martial Arts values. All instructors hold DBS vetting, are First Aid trained, and our Academy operates with safeguarding procedures in place to help ensure a safe, professional and supportive training environment for both children and adults.
Authority
As a practical and traditional Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo school, we are proudly affiliated with both the UK Chung Do Kwan and the UK Taekwondo Commission, through whom all members are licensed and registered.
Like many respected sports and activity providers, these organisations choose to remain independent of government 'sports' agencies and their systems of 'sports' regulation and control. This approach allows greater flexibility and freedom to deliver high-quality instruction while avoiding any excessive compliance costs that can be prohibitive in today’s economic climate.
Importantly, independence does not mean a lack of oversight, safety, or quality. Instead, it supports a more direct, community-led approach to maintaining standards, promoting responsible practice, and preserving the traditional values of Taekwondo as a practical Martial Art of Self-Defence as opposed to those of a those of a predominantly sporting structure or training regime.
